It has come to my attention that Lisa Loeb has a line of eyeware. How this has slipped under my radar is not for certain. What I know to be true is that I want these on my face yesterday. I loved Lisa Loeb in the 90s, I loved her reality show on VH1 (why only one season?!) I love that she dedicated an album to her cat. She had great 90's style that I really, really wish I could have had. Remember that outfit she wore on SNL? That sparkle blue mini skirt and white go-go boots (this is the only sad, little picture I could find) and sang "Do you sleep?" So solid. Her glasses are her trademark and now they can be yours.
For the next four days I am braving the wilderness in Yosemite. There will be dirt, bugs, bears and a precarious shower situation. Enjoy the next four days for me in the land of warm showers, clean hair and civilized sleeping arrangements dear readers. I'm out.
Hey Jack, how much will you miss us?
When we moved into this apartment everything we owned was green. The green situation has slowly morphed into the grey situation. Everything we own is neutral, and I like it that way. That gold skull needs to get in my life already.

Marc Jacobs is always the highlight of fashion week, or any week really. Prada was on the fish scale sequin for fall. MJ is brining it to spring. I would eat sequins if I could.
This reminds me of the time after high school when I wanted to wear a bandana a la Rosie the Riveter or any cool punk girl in the late 90s really. It never worked with my oddly shapped head. This collection is tempting me to try it again full force with baby bangs. But again, I have a Tyra Banks style five head situation so that really shouldn't happen at all.
This collection is like a frilly, high fashion cupcake who won't take your sass...or my sass. The drop waist coats are going to be everywhere. By everywhere I'm talking about on me.
J.Crew won't let me quit them. I wear glasses. I have contacts, but I hate them. It is hard to make glasses look dressy/sexy/non librarian sometimes. J.Crew holds me close and tells me everything is going to be alright because this is how you make glasses look super foxy. Wouldn't it be great if that sequin skirt were a picnic blanket? Or curtains? Or blanket? Or just on me in general. It is all chambray wishes and sequin dreams around these parts.

Refinery 29 recently had a darling feature with Anne Sage, Mission District resident and Co-founder of uber beautiful Rue Magazine. I'm a huge fan of Rue and so pleased to see the feature of her gorge Guerrero st abode.
My heart belongs to a well merchandised home.
How totally adorable is she!?
Her interview is smart and a true success story of a brilliant creative girl making big things happen. Her style is eclectic flea market vintage with a modern sense and is totally crush worthy. She also shares her fave spots in the Mission which is something I always appreciate.

Yesterday we celebrated the launch of our new lovely blog space by hosting a little shindig. The weather was warm and glorious and so were our guests. My brother (who writes a blog here!) co hosted the party by letting us crash his backyard for the day. It was a very low key event. The sparkle skulls are from Cost Plus and are actually halloween decorations but I thought they fit the vibe well.
The honey comb and brie was a big hit.
Party favors
Conrad, Davy and myself. Davy is the lovely guy who designed our new blog. He also took these photos because he is thoughtful like that.
My lovely husband who broke his toe playing baseball Sunday morning and still helped me set up for the party by moving a 400 pound table.
The party favors I made were a small set of personal note cards that said....
Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down the road and back again
Your heart is true
Your a pal and a confidant
Thank you so much to everyone who came out and offering your endless support of my projects. For any craft fair you have attended, for all the blog reposts, for every name you have ever dropped a name or any client you have referred, it has made this all possible. I am forever grateful for the friends I have. You guys are the best xoxo

There has been a strong era vibe coming out of fashion week. Zac Posen's collection draws heavily from the 20s 30s and 40s. This is old Hollywood glam with a more modern silhouette. The sunglasses are all very Katharine Hepburn. I want to wear the white dress on sun porch while the boys go play tennis. Later on while in my salon I will sip brandy while in my emerald gown as I hear about the debauchery that occured in the stables between the stable boy and the Doctors wife. You didn't hear it from me.
I think the 90s are having a moment.

Tailored pants are also having a moment. Longer hemlines, shift silhouettes are all on my plate and if you give me a spoon I will eat them for breakfast. The dresses at Derek Lam's show kind of remind me of what I would wear to an 8th grade dance. The pink long sleeved sweater with coordinating skirt reminds me of Jr. High when wearing a thermal as a shirt was soooo hip. The metallic dresses are like stickers from a vending machine. I want to take that black dress to the winter formal.
New York Fashion Week is happening and so starts the fan girl freak out over things I want to put on my body. The shows have been in heavy rotation in my office. By office I mean my house and me here in my jeans making JP look at the computer and oogle with me over things he doesn't really "get". I am freaking out over Thakoon right now.

There are approximately one million points of reference with this collection and I heart them all in a big way. The powdered Marie Antoinette hair, the Indian sari wraps, and the riot grrl attitude is all so lovely. The story here is so colorful. I want this collection to be the soundtrack of my life. The blue pants with horizontal sequin stripes are so terribly swoon.
